Take a look at the picture above. This is Oasis of the Seas, the World's Largest and Most Expensive Cruise Ship that is being built in Finland. Named as 'Project Genesis', this 1,180ft long luxury cruise ship is scheduled to be delivered to Royal Caribbean International, by the end of 2009.
The Oasis of the Seas will have a gross tonnage of 220,000 tonnes and it will be able to carry 5,400 passengers in 16 passenger decks. It will be longer than four football fields and 40 per cent bigger than the existing biggest cruise liners. US$1.24 billion will be spent on it's construction. So, this will be the most expensive commercial ship ever built.
This mammoth ship will have a 'Central Park', a 5-deck high area in the middle of the ship, open to the sky and filled with green tropical gardens, restaurants and shops. There will be 334 staterooms overlooking the Park, 254 with balconies. All total, there will be seven neighborhoods or entertainment areas in Oasis of the Seas. Wiki
