Shadow illusion is a great art! It gives beautiful shapes to the shadow. Even ugly things may be used for this purpose! Look at the pictures below to get an idea! Sometimes, the real thing is not beautiful as it's shadow!

Umm there are people sitting behind the white screens or whatever they're called. its obvious, really :). There is no way a pile of cans can make perfect spaces like that no matter how good the artist/sculptor is. Sorry to burst the bubble :)
