Oscar Winners List Leaked?

The Oscar Winners list leaked! A document containing the signature of Sid Ganis, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences first appeared in a blog. The list stated that the ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, will see Mickey Rourke (best actor), Kate Winslet (best actress), Heath Ledger (best supporting actor) and Amy Adams (best supporting actress) as the winners. The paper also shows that British filmmaker Danny Boyle will be handed the best director award trophy, and his film “Slumdog Millionaire” will be named best picture.

Well, the Academy has dismissed the list as nothing more than a hoax and insisted the votes are still being counted.. Oscar spokeswoman Leslie Unger said: “The document is a complete fraud".

So, what you think about the list? Is it genuine? Off course it is not. But, what about the winners? are they really going to get the trophies on the big day? In my view at least some of them will. Take a look at the Oscar Winners list:

Lowest Grossing Film of all Time

What is the name of the lowest-grossing film of all time? Do you have any idea about it's gross earning? Well, the name of the film is "Zyzzyx Road" and it grossed just $30. Can you believe this?

Zyzzyx_Road_Poster

Zyzzyx Road is an independent thriller film. It stars Leo Grillo, Katherine Heigl, and Tom Sizemore. The screenplay was written by John Penney, who also directed the film. It was released on February 25, 2006 at Highland Park Village Theater in Dallas, Texas. The release was deliberately limited and it was shown once-a-day for six days, which ultimately resulted in gross income of $30 at the box office. Unofficially, its opening weekend netted $20 from exactly six patrons. The $10 difference is due to a personal refund by Grillo to makeup artist Sheila Moore, who had worked on the film, and her friend.

The total budget of the film was about $2 million and it earned just $30 in the box office. What a successful opening? Later, the film was released in 23 countries and by the end of 2006, had earned about $368,000. As of today, the film has not yet received the legitimate domestic distribution that was supposed to follow its foreign release.

What I think about 'Crash'?

I am a movie buff! I watch a lot of movies, by managing some time in between my business and blogging. Or you can say that, I spend most of my free time in the stories of movies!

Well, I have no particular favorite genre. From romantic movies to serious drama and from sci-fi movies to action thrillers, I watch everything that sounds interesting to me! I use online reviews and opinions of my friends while choosing movies.

Recently, I had an argument with one of my good friend on 'Crash', the 2004 movie. According to him, the movie has nothing to watch. I was shocked to hear that from him. Why? He said that a movie with racial theme is not good for society. His answer again shocked me, as I liked 'Crash' only because of the simple but beautiful internal message!

In fact there is more than racism in 'Crash'. It shows how people can develop good feelings towards completey strangers. As we human are social animals, we love to live in the society. And once inside society you will definitely meet new people and start to make new relationships. This is what makes life beautiful and 'Crash' actually tried to deliver that simple message.

What about you my friend? Did you enjoyed 'Crash'? Feel free to express what you think about it's story.

Interesting zero-budget movie IP

What was that in the video? It is a movie called IP, made by 5 young people. IP is a no-budget free-to-download movie that is being made scene-by-scene chronologically. Each time a scene is finished, it is put online so that people can already see the movie up until that point.

IP is a non-profit project and to make this movie, we only use what we have, which is: a consumer HDV camcorder, some basic cheap sound equipment and our computers. Link
