Want to buy more than a home? What about a village? Believe it or not, an entire village including 22 cottages, a cricket club, a blacksmiths and a manor house has gone up for sale. The price tag is between £23,000,000 - £25,000,000.
Picturesque Linkenholt, near Andover in Hampshire, is in an area of outstanding beauty and includes 1,500 acres of farmland and 450 acres of woodland. It is located between Newbury and Andover and about 73 miles to Central London. It will be sold by the Herbert and Peter Blagrave Charitable Trust, who owns the estate. The only thing not included with the deal is the 12th century village church, which does not belong to the trust.
Under the terms of the sale, the buyer will land everything including its 22 houses, the village shop and a commercial shoot. Recently, a meeting has been held with the close-knit community of around 40, where it was decided to keep the layout of the village the same.
Estate Agent Tim Sherston, from Jackson-Stops and Staff in Newbury, told Sky News: "There has been an unusual amount of interest in the village, so we do expect it to sell."
