On Friday, Kouvola Karaoke Club of Finland set the new world record for the longest karaoke session of 216 hours. Can you believe this? Yosuke Yamashita (66), a Japanese jazz pianist played a burning piano in Ishikawa Prefecture, western Japan. He amazed about 500 spectators by playing the piano for full ten minutes before all the strings were burnt out or snapped and the piano went quiet.
For pretection, Yamashita was wearing a firefighter's uniform. This performance was a reproduction of a scene from the 1973 movie "Burning Piano". In the movie also, Yamashita played the burning piano.
"I did not think I was risking my life but I was almost suffocating from the smoke that was continuously getting into my eyes and nose. I had decided to keep on playing until the piano stopped making sounds, so though I did not mean it but it ended up having a life-or-death battle between the piano and myself," said Mr Yamashita. A bad deal for Akon! Hip-hop star Akon has been officially charged in the highly publicized fan-tossing incident that took place in the summer in New York, after the fan said she suffered a concussion when the boy who was tossed off the stage by the singer landed on her.
According to the Associated Press, Akon is scheduled to appear in Fishkill Town Court on Monday morning (December 3) to be arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, and second-degree harassment.
The singer was caught on video back in June where he was seen throwing a fan off the stage into the crowd wile he performed at the Annual KFEST concert at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York.
The famous singer Madonna is going to dump her longtime record lebel, Warner Brothers Records, for an attractive package offered by another company called 'Live Nation'. Live Nation, a publicly held concert promoter, has offered her to pay more than $100 million in exchange for three albums and the exclusive rights to promote her concerts and to market her merchandise.

Last week, a panel of US Federal Court judges heard the appeal case of Jennifer Armour, who is alleging that the singer Beyonce used her lyrics in her hit song, 'Baby Boy'. According to Jennifer Armour, Beyonce took the lyrics from her own song, 'Got a Little Bit of Love For You'.
In the original trial, the judge ruled in Beyonce's favour stating that the two songs were "substantially dissimilar". But, Armour’s attorney Dana Kirk said that the case should be resurrected since a jury hearing was not conducted and also that an expert analysis shows that Beyonce Knowles’ upbeat ‘Baby Boy’ had similarities with her client’s demo. So, the case now continues in a three day trial which will be heard in the New Orleans-based 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals.

No more solo from 50 Cent? Rapper 50 Cent has pulled out of the MOBOs and other European dates a day after he was beaten to the top of the chart by rival Kanye West. Earlier, the star had vowed to retire as a solo artist if Kanye outsold him. Yesterday, Kanye West went straight in at number one in the album chart with his latest offering, Graduation. And 50 Cent only managed the second spot with his record, Curtis.
Both albums were released on the same day and the rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - vowed in an interview:
"If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums." Link

The musical Sea Organ (morske orgulje) is located on the shores of Zadar, Croatia, and is the world’s first musical pipe organs that is played by the sea. Simple and elegant steps, carved in white stone, were built on the quayside. Underneath, there are 35 musically tuned tubes with whistle openings on the sidewalk. The movement of the sea pushes air through, and – depending on the size and velocity of the wave – musical chords are played. The waves create random harmonic sounds. Link
