A man who scaled a 20-storey building in central London, has been arrested for wasting police time! Hundreds of workers stopped to watch as Alain Robert, dubbed the French Spiderman, scaled the 101 metre-tall building, near a shopping centre without ropes.
The 45-year-old said he did the climb to publicise the fight against climate change. He yelled "greenhouse gases are climbing and so am I," as he clambered up the building. There were cheers from the crowd as he waved from the top.
But police taped off the area and later arrested him for criminal damage and wasting police time.
Alain Robert has climbed over 70 giant structures around the globe and this stunt was carried out to promote energy-saving website The Solution is Simple.org.
He said: "I'm risking my life for what I believe in. World leaders need to be brave too. We need ambitious targets - not two more years of hot air." Link
