Last Picture of Princess Diana

This is the picture of Princess Diana, moments before the fatal car crash in Paris. For the first time this picture was shown in public. In the picture, the Princess is looking behind to see if there are photographers. In front of the princess is her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones. Beside him is Henri Paul, who was at the wheel.

The Mercedes crashed into a pillar in the Alma underpass in Paris minutes after the picture was taken, killing the chauffeur, Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed.

This photograph was one of several shown to the jury at London's High Court on the first day of the inquests into Diana and Dodi's deaths. The Inquest hearings started on 2 October 2007 at the Royal Courts of Justice, where coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker explained in detail what happened in Diana's final moments. Link
