According to police, Heinrich worked for a cable company and collected keys to the schools. He used the keys to burgle three public high schools and one middle school in Waukesha, Wisconsin, six times during the past two years. Several female students reported that the locks on their lockers had been cut and their shoes stolen after police discovered the break-in at North High School.
In 2005, Heinrich had a previous shoe-stealing conviction that was dismissed at the request of the prosecutor after he'd completed a year of probation, counselling and 50 hours of community service. Link
