New York City Waterfalls

New York city has got some exciting art installations in the form of man-made waterfalls. There are 4 waterfalls in total and they are softly lit at night and available for everyone to see. These installations will be available along the East River through mid-October 2008.

The New York City Waterfalls project is the brainchild of Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. The New York City Waterfalls were constructed using building elements, scaffolding and pumps. The scaffolding is the backbone of the structures and pumps bring water from the East River to the top of the water falls. Then the water falls from heights of 90 to 120 feet back into the river. Indeed a nice art installation. What you think? Images: AP/AFP
