The 40hr Phone Call

How long can person talk over phone, non-stop? One hours? Two hour? Tony Wright today broke the World Record for the Longest Phone Call by talking non-stop for 40 hours. Can you believe this? The previous record was of 39 hours, 18 minutes and 24 seconds. It was set on November 3, 2005 by Sandra Kobel and Stephen Hafner, from Switzerland.

'Luckily, I do not have to worry about a huge phone bill because we are using Tesco internet phones, meaning that this mammoth call is free,' said Mr Wright Link

Tony Wright's record bid began when he chatted to TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd almost two days ago. Since then hundreds of people have taken hourly chat slots with Mr Wright to help him beat the record. This long conversation covered many interesting subjects including romance, heartbreaks, stomach mucus and upcoming Led Zeppelin concert.

Before we forget, Tony Wright also has another World Record in his name. He broke the World record for Sleeplessness by staying awake for 11 days, in May, 2007.
